Here are some names under consideration:
- Fred
- Diddams
- Pouncer
- Jupiter
- Dart

Our gecko is still too young and don’t know if it’s a male or female. It has to be at least six months old before we can determine. In the meantime, we need help deciding on the name. Please vote in the comments or make suggestions. Thank you!!

I’d go with “Dart.”
Thank you, Liz, for your vote!
You’re welcome, Esther!
I like Jupiter first. Although Dart was my second choice 😀 😀
Thank you, Cee, for your vote!
I like Dart, but Jupiter is really good, too. 🙂
Thanks, Barbara, for your vote!!
I like Dart best – he/she strikes me that it will dart out and up an arm and is a little mischievous. Have fun with your new pet Esther!
Your vote is noted! Thank you, Linda. I was really interested to find out what name you liked. The name “Dart” was Elliot’s pick.
Yep, you’re right. The nameless (for now) gecko does dart up and down wherever without any concern for its well being.
Well Elliot had a good choice there – running up and down a hand or arm makes “Dart” a great name. Are the fish going to be neglected now and Mom will be doing EVERYTHING for the fish now?
Our gecko was darting around yesterday, but today it’s lethargic and withdrawn. High stress with the kiddos since they think we freaked it out by handling it yesterday.
Fish has been my thing for a while now. When they tried to help in the past, it turned out to be more work for me: water and accidental overfeeding. It’s just too much damage control for me. Lol.
They’re trying to do more with the gecko. If kids weren’t allergic to furry animals, we’d so get a rabbit or a hamster.
I thought you might have ended up being the sole caretaker of the fish. 🙂 Yes, it may be all stressed out from being handled … I think you said it tinkled on Elliot’s hand.
Yep, it tinkled on his hand and table. This was the first time we handled it and probably stressed it out.
Since it was a big deal getting the gecko, kids are motivated to take care of it and they like being able to pet it. If they didn’t have allergies, it’d be so fun to have a rabbit or hamster.
It’s good that it is Summer, so they have more time to interact with it.
2 votes Dart from me & B. I’ll get 2 more votes tomorrow…
Thank you, friend! Please let me know the other votes soon.
Dart sounds like fart, so no no
How about Charizard ?
It’s a Pokemon 😛
Mr Fred
Or if female she can be freddy
K, so I’m placing your vote with Fred/ Freddy. I hear what you mean about Dart; our homeschool teacher mentioned the same thing today when we asked for her vote.
Kids really like your Charizard suggestion, but it’s too late to add it to the voting list. It may become its middle name.
People are liking tart for some reason 😂
How about Eazy?
It has E 😛
Dart is the majority of the votes so far! Kind of surprising. But we’re going to wait a few more days to finalize. This is a fun project for the kids and I’m such a teacher: I told them to make a graph of it afterwards. Lol.
Eazy is not bad but can’t add more to the names under consideration.
Will update as we finalize.
Okay then
Will love to know the final selection
Definitely a very cute gecko! I quite like Dart.
Thank you, Jo! Dart is in the lead.
2 votes Fred from S and K!
Thank you!!
I like Dart! Super cute gecko!
Thank you, Laura, for your vote! Excited to have a new pet. So much to learn in the meantime.
