sing like wildflowers
My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

Smiling. Love to all of you დ
Thank you, Cindy! Have a happy 4th of July weekend.
Omg lollll 😅
That’s funny! 🙂
The mosquitoes will be sharing that post with their friends and tagging location.
Ha ha – yes, they’ll all glom onto us sometime before the Summer is over!
With at least one or two…unfortunately, they are harder to detect and kill than a random fly.
Yes, that’s true. Wondering why God made insects sometimes. 🙂
They’re small but they must play an important role in the ecosystem. Dart says he must have insects and nothing else, so he is convinced that they are God’s manna for him! lol
Ha ha – yes, that is true and live ones on top of it. Do you remember your first experience with the live crickets and mealworms? Look how far you’ve come since then. 🙂
I’ve got it down to a system! You’re right…I have come a long way from being squeamish about picking up Dart but now I just pick him up and move on with my life. The silkworms completed their life cycle and I saved the eggs in a ziploc bag, which are safely in the fridge. My goodness…I cleaned out the 10 gallon fish tank with the old branches, their old cocoons, silkworm poop, and dead moths. The stench was awful and with this heat, it didn’t help with the smell. lol
Wow – you had a whole science project in the space of a few weeks’ time! There was a local woman who had terrariums all over her house with Monarch pupae in them. She even took them when they went camping in northern Michigan, because if a Monarch emerged from a pupa, she wanted to be there for it and to take photos.
I can see why she’d take the terrarium with her. After all that time, you’d want to witness the transformation and take pictures of them.
The silkworms were an educational hands-on science project, but they required a lot of attention, feeding, and cleaning. The final clean was the worst since their cocoon webs and dried eggs were dried against the glass. I swore to myself that I won’t do this again, but come spring and I’ll probably bust out the refrigerated eggs and start all over again. I know myself too well.
Yes, that makes sense and she liked releasing them … she did photograph butterflies in her garden. Her entire backyard is a perennial garden to attract butterflies, mostly milkweed, as her backyard is considered a Monarch Waystation habitat.
That’s so funny
Happy 4th July , Eshter!
Isn’t it? The mosquitoes will be very busy.
No, Good it’s very busy!
