Happy 4th of July!!
I hope everyone in California is staying hydrated, healthy, and cool. We are in the midst of a serious heat wave that gets to 100 degrees or more. Even Dart, a desert animal, has been constantly frequenting his water bowl.

Sorry to hear about your heat wave – we were miserable with a one-week heat wave in mid-June … ugh. Interesting since Dart would be accustomed to being in the heat. Hope he doesn’t nod off into his water dish.
Dart looks just like I do at the end of a long day, especially in that last photo. We’re not so hot as you, but on the other hand, the humidity levels out there are much, much lower than they are here. For example, Sacramento had a 20% humidity this afternoon, while we were at 78%. The joke here is that summer is a 90/90 season: 90 degrees with 90% humidity. I hope you never have to experience that!
Oh yikes, 90/90 sounds absolutely miserable. Sometimes we get humidity here too but that’s a rare occasion. Our heat waves consist of dry and hot heat…my plants’ leaves burn.
Dart is quite the hydrator these days. This is unusual for him, but I’d rather have him drink than not. He’s getting smarter as he gets older. BTW, July 5th is his 1 year birthday…that’s the day we brought him home. He got a new climbing bridge as a bday gift.
Your comment made me laugh about the second photo and you feeling the way Dart does. hahaha We all do on hot days!!

It feels much longer than a year in looking back! I think you may have voted in choosing a name for him.

Similar temperatures here, Esther, but hopefully cooler in the next week. Do your youngsters have a pool to play in, or just stay indoors?
Whew, you have it hot over there too! We have dry heat with little to no humidity. With this kind of heat, we stay indoors with the a/c on! This week we are babysitting our bunny friend Diamond and it’s been a lot of play time with her. Although yesterday was not all fun and games when Diamond tore off a piece of scotch tape from her food bag and ran off with it. The tape strip stuck to her chin and upper belly and it was pressed down. The whole ordeal required me and Chris and two curious onlookers. 🙂
Stay hydrated and wear sunscreen!
Sunscreen is a way of life here, but I do like to cool off at the beach. As if you couldn’t guess 🤣🩵
Same here with the sunscreen…been wearing it daily since high school. Yea, I can see how much you enjoy the beach and water…it’s serene, refreshing, and a wonderful part of nature. Do you collect seashells? You visit so many beaches that I wonder if you find any cool ones.
The kitchen windowsill is full of them. I’m a little more choosey these days 🤣🐚🐡
I can imagine!! They are all unique and pretty, but I can see why you’d need to be more choosey. I’d love to find a big piece of sea glass’ we’ve only found tiny ones so far.
