My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

That’s a lot of roots!
Lots and lots! It’s amazing to see how the long roots curl into the shape of the glass container.
Are you going to plant them somewhere?
Are you going to pot them Esther?
These guys will remain in the glass jars! I have one plant pot with these stem cuttings potted in soil, but they are having a tough time growing. Growth rate is slow compared to water.
That’s interesting. They usually trail nicely after a while. I had one at work and it trailed along the window ledge. We never had one at the house though.
I need to give my plants time to trail but I get too excited and end up cutting it to put them in water. Propagating madness!
This is a hardy plant that boosts confidence for the plant owner! When the leaves look weak, giving the plant a good drink of water spruces it right back.
If only a drink of water could spruce us back and make us look perky again – we could bottle that water and be rich (not to mention famous)!
Rich and famous we would become! If only it would be that easy.
That’s for sure – sigh.
The leaves look healthy. They must enjoy living in water.
I intended to keep them in water only until it started growing roots and then I would plant them in soil. But they are thriving and look healthy growing in the water. I make sure to change the water once a week. Since they’ve been living in water for so long, I’m not sure how they would do planted in soil.
They would do fine. My mother used to root her cuttings that way, and then repot them.
Perhaps I’ve been trying to re-pot mine too soon – mine have never had roots like that!
