On Wednesday afternoon, I was informed by my blogger friend Linda Schaub that Cee from FOTD (Flower of the Day) passed away on March 3, 2025. I’m so thankful she shared the news with me, because I was wondering and worried about how Cee was doing since her last flower post was in early February and I knew that she had been in hospice.
She was and is special to me and to the blogging community for hosting challenges and for being an inspiring photographer encouraging us to look at the world in different ways and through the themes of the challenges she hosted. When I first started blogging, I didn’t really know what to post, but her FOTD challenge gave me a community to share my love of nature with others. She also wrote supportive comments on my posts, which made me feel included and once gave me technical help on how to ping her blog with my FOTD posts.
I will miss her greatly!! Thank you for the light you brought into the blogging world and for the kindness you showed your readers. You will not be forgotten!
Chris and Cee’s brother, Joe, I am so sorry for your loss. Sending my sincere condolences and sympathy to you all. Praying for peace in your hearts.
Much love, Esther

I know…she always posted beautiful flowers and hosted fun challenges for everyone! She will be missed.
Sad to hear this. I too remember Cee from my early blogging days.
Agree…she was helpful to me in my early blogging days and her FOTD challenges had me me looking at flowers differently.
I’m glad you received the message, Esther. I just sent you a link to my blog also.

Thank you, Liz! She will definitely be missed.
You’re welcome, Sally.
Sally’s a good name…

I meant Esther, not Sally!

Nice tribute
Thank you, Andy! She was a lovely person even though I never met her in person.

Thank you, friend, for saying that! She was a lovely person and kind blogger.
Esther – this is a beautiful tribute to your fellow blogger and mentor, Cee. I am glad she inspired you to post all those beautiful flower photos that your followers, including me, have enjoyed seeing. Thank you also for mentioning my blog and me. I was sorry to share the sad news that I read in Yvette Prior’s tribute to Cee on her blog. {{{ Hugs }}}
I will miss Cee! She was pivotal in my early blogging days in encouraging me to go outside and take pictures of the nature around me.
Thank you for sharing Yvette’s blog with me…kept me in the loop of what happened to Cee.
You’re welcome Esther – I knew you liked Cee and contributing to her FOTD challenge. Since it appears that Chris will be keeping Cee’s blog going, you can still photograph those beautiful flowers and post about them!
It doesn’t feel the same without there, although I still religiously take flower photos! I will continue. There’s lots more of pretty flowers in bloom with the weather warming up in CA.
I saw that Chris will be doing Cee’s website now. That is nice she is continuing it on. We have nothing here yet … a few buds on trees, but some of those buds were there after that three-day warm spell back one month ago. I think the buds opened, then froze in place. You’re lucky to be seeing such a vast amount of colorful flowers already.
That’s wonderful to hear that Chris will be doing Cee’s website!
Our trees have leaves now and it’s full spring here. The Mulberry trees in front of our house only had buds last week, but now the leaves have made their appearance.
Yes, I saw that on another blogger’s site. Spring has sprung for you!
Full swing!
Yay!!

Agree! She had many challenges and she also posted challenges from other bloggers, so her blog was a great place to see options for posting
For sure, she will be missed! Thank you for commenting. Hope you have a great weekend.
