My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
Morning reading time with the Korean dictionary. His next reading book is the rabbit gossip magazine; for his leisure time. Before Teddy can continue, he needs a papaya snack. Now the pages are just turning and Teddy is locked in with this dictionary.
It’s an old dictionary that’s been sitting on our bookshelf and it was a size that would suit Teddy. I know it’s not legible to see the words on the dictionary. I’m so glad that you enjoyed it!!
Kids are always around Korean as Chris and I frequently speak Korean, but they can’s speak it. They understand a little. Do you know Duolingo? It’s a free app where you can learn any language with lessons. It’s pretty interactive and fun. They’re learning Korean on it now.

Yes, I’ve heard of the app.
We were required in TX being on the Mexican border to learn Spanish in public school when I was in 2nd grade at our public school. The law was only that one year, oddly enough and it didn’t last. There were opportunities to learn a variety of languages. I never had any interest in learning a second language because everyone I knew spoke English.
Being in a large Korean family as you are, it makes a lot of sense for your children and pets to learn the Korean language. I’m glad.
You have heard of the app! It’s pretty fun to use.
Elliot is on the highest streak in our house with almost 600 days. Ellis would be similar to him, but she lost her streak from being in the hospital too many times.
Learning a new language is tough and if you don’t have a need for it, then there’s not much intrinsic motivation or interest! Why waste time on that when you can do other things. Also, how is your health these days? And Yorkie’s too?

Are your kids learning Korean also?
