My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

The week has been good since we came home from the hospital last Thursday. We’ve been busy catching up on homework, recovering, and doing life.

Then, last night Ellis had another vomiting episode. This one almost made me cry. It was midnight and it was heck of a clean up for me, and I almost feared another trip to the ER. I was already tired from the day and the thought of getting up to clean got me super grumpy and sad. Ellis apologized profusely for not making it on time to the toilet although it wasn’t her fault. After I apologized for being a grump and she accepted, we were able to have a good night’s sleep and have no more vomiting incidents after that.

So this afternoon, as a treat for all of us and to revive our spirits, we went out to eat some red bean and nutella teyakis with ube ice cream at the mall. Chris thought it would be best to stay home all day and take it easy so Ellis recovers fully, but we didn’t listen and went out anyway. Lol.

We take it day by day and stay grateful to God that we are home and doing life, albeit slowly. As you can see from the picture, I had a whole cup of ube ice cream even though I’m lactose intolerant. Kids asked me if I would be alright driving home. lol. Surprisingly, I did fine and had no side effects.

Oh Esther, it’s so hard! Why do these events happen? Any trigger?

Sometimes you just gotta go out for ice cream – it’s medicinal! Glad you got to enjoy a treat to revive your spirits!
