We finally got to have a reunion visit with Diamond after 2 years! She used to come to our house about 2-3 times a year when my friend’s family would go out of town. Diamond would be the special guest of honor for her stay and she ultimately started our love for all things rabbits. Diamond has a propensity to flop when she is relaxed, where she will do a side flop and lay down. It’s a sign of complete relaxation and happiness.

We wish Teddy would flop, but he only flops in his cage. He’s more of a nose booper.
Her size is dramatically bigger than Teddy since her breed is called Giant Chinchilla. When we came home and picked up Teddy, it was shocking to notice the difference.

Diamond’s a nice rabbit, but that last photo of Teddy’s the real winner for me!
Adorable shots of your family, Esther xx
How lovely!
Esther – As I was reading the post and looking at Diamond’s pictures I was thinking how big she was and then you mentioned it in the post. Quite a difference and Teddy’s got those flop ears and the chubby cheeks that you want to just pinch. 🙂
The size difference is noticeable! She was heavy for Ellis to pick up. Teddy and his floppy ears is his signature look. He’s quite proud of them and will clean them throughout the day. lol. Yesterday I trimmed his nails while Ellis had him laying on her lap; surprisingly, he didn’t flip over once, which is a major step forward for him. Yes, he loves his cheeks massaged and rubbed. You would love him if you met him.
I’m sure I would love Teddy if I met him – he looks like a cuddly toy, soft and furry with those floppy ears and chubby cheeks. It’s funny how we forgot how big Diamond was after not seeing her in a while.
Teddy would know right away that you are an animal whisperer and hop right onto your lap!
And I would be very reluctant to hand him back to you!
He’s a cuddle bug. Sometimes, he gets yucky poops and I have to clean him at the sink under running water. He’s so good to stay still until he’s all washed up and dried. He doesn’t act like a tornado anymore when we pick him up like when he was younger. Teddy is tame and mellow. If only he would be cuddly enough to nap next to. He’s too active right now. Maybe when he gets older, he’ll mellow out.
That’s good that Teddy is feeling less skittish now as he gets acclimated to everything. Yes, when he gets older, he’ll probably get more mellow – like us. 🙂
