My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
Staying warm under the heaterIncubatorGot a chance to hold the chicks. So small & fluffyThrough a 4-H friend, we were connected with a teacher who will take the baby chicks (up to 6) from us if we decide to incubate eggs and hatch chicks. That was the main hindrance from us pursuing this project in the past. Chicken lessons will begin in the next few months!
Yes, a new project on the horizon!! They are so small and soft. I heard they’re wet and goopy when first hatched but they fluff up in a matter of days. Seeing the process in real life will be a great homeschooling learning experience.
We are nervous too, but it’s a good opportunity to try it. What stopped us from trying in the past was figuring out what to do with the chicks when they get bigger. Thankfully, this teacher who will let us borrow the necessary supplies will also take the chickens from us to her ranch.
Have no idea when we will start this project. Gotta time it right!
How did I miss this post – how sweet! Sometimes I have posts missing in my Reader. For bloggers that post on a set day, I just track them down by going to their post, but since you post on random days I missed it. Good thing I saw it in your left sidebar after I commented on Dar’s tail post. They are probably twice the size by now, but how sweet they are now! Chicken lessons will be twice as fun as real school lessons – just sayin’!

That should be a fun learning experience. 👍🏽
Can’t wait. Need to get the timing right so we can be committed and give the chicks our full attention.
More cuties for your menagerie!
We will see! We will only hatch and keep them for a few weeks. But getting the eggs to hatch will be an amazing experience.
Baby chicks are cute, you are brave to take them on. Well I think, but that could be just me. Looking forward to seeing more.
