Is that a bug photo bombing this picture? Before zooming in, I thought it was an old leaf stuck to the stem or an injured stem. I’m still wondering. If it is, that bug’s camouflage is incredible. What do you think?

Thanks Cee for hosting this flower challenge! Every time I see a pretty flower I’m inspired to share it here with everyone. Have a great start to the weekend!
This solo flower grew from dry and crusty soil in a flower pot all by itself. The stem was really long and wiry with the middle part of the stem tethered to the rail by the homeowner.
What determination to grow and bloom stretching towards the sun. How long has this flower been growing like this?
Flowers always make people better, happier and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine to the soul.

Thanks Cee for hosting this photo challenge! It’s been a while since I last participated…life has been busy with wrapping up homeschool for this semester and never-ending housework. Hope you are staying well and recovering fully!
Until the end, these trees glow with radiant colors! Although the outer leaves have mostly fallen, the inner ones, the last ones to go, look like they’ve just changed colors and still appear lush and shiny. My hypothesis is that they’ve been protected from the elements by the outer leaves. But the leaf stems are weak and will fall with a slight touch or pull.
Thinking about it some more, maybe it’s the type of tree that makes this difference. The leaves are waxy. Just some thoughts from observing these trees with my kids.
Thanks Cee for hosting this challenge! Stay well and safe.
