Silent Sunday: Jan 8, 2021

2021 January. Now loved and tucked into bed.
December 2018…holiday bear surprise at hospital during stay. But Ellis doesn’t even want to look at it.

Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!

    1. I would’ve understood if Ellis didn’t like stuffed animals, but she is a huge fan. It’s a weird indicator to me that when she shuns toys, she is really not feeling well. That’s kind of my gauge. If she’s sick but not overly, she will give me a thumbs up that she is ok. But if she says no, that’s a warning.
My kids take after me; we adore stuffed animals. Who doesn’t?! lol

      1. Yes, every kid is different, Esther. Autumn only wants stuffed animals when she goes to bed or takes a nap. During the day, she wants to play with things or toys required interaction or thinking.

      2. Yes, we don’t quite understand their preferences. We had books and toys available for Autumn but she preferred books even when she was one year old. She even held a book, turned the pages sitting in the rocking chair by herself in her room when she was 15 months old. We took many photos of her reading aloud by herself. She memorized about 20 books before 3 years old.

    1. Thank you Linda! Your sweet comment warms my heart. It was a bad time for all of us. That was her 3rd hospitalization in 1 month and doctors couldn’t figure out the reason for her illness. After all the tests and heart cath, it was diagnosed as abdominal migraine.
That bear is now loved and has an interesting story to tell. She named him Fuddles. πŸ˜›

      1. You’re welcome Esther — I can tell from that resigned look on Ellis’ face that she just wasn’t in the mood for it, even a new teddy bear. Interesting diagnosis – I never knew a migraine would be anywhere but the head. I once worked with a woman who got cluster headaches. They were so debilitating that she could not concentrate to work when they came on and they came on quickly. Fuddles is a cute name – cuddles with Fuddles!
