Help choose a name for our Leopard Gecko

Here are some names under consideration:

  1. Fred
  2. Diddams
  3. Pouncer
  4. Jupiter
  5. Dart
Maybe the face will help you while thinking about the names. 🙂

Our gecko is still too young and don’t know if it’s a male or female. It has to be at least six months old before we can determine. In the meantime, we need help deciding on the name. Please vote in the comments or make suggestions. Thank you!!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!

    1. Your vote is noted! Thank you, Linda. I was really interested to find out what name you liked. The name “Dart” was Elliot’s pick.
Yep, you’re right. The nameless (for now) gecko does dart up and down wherever without any concern for its well being.

      1. Well Elliot had a good choice there – running up and down a hand or arm makes “Dart” a great name. Are the fish going to be neglected now and Mom will be doing EVERYTHING for the fish now?

      2. Our gecko was darting around yesterday, but today it’s lethargic and withdrawn. High stress with the kiddos since they think we freaked it out by handling it yesterday.
Fish has been my thing for a while now. When they tried to help in the past, it turned out to be more work for me: water and accidental overfeeding. It’s just too much damage control for me. Lol.
They’re trying to do more with the gecko. If kids weren’t allergic to furry animals, we’d so get a rabbit or a hamster.

      3. I thought you might have ended up being the sole caretaker of the fish. 🙂 Yes, it may be all stressed out from being handled … I think you said it tinkled on Elliot’s hand.

      4. Yep, it tinkled on his hand and table. This was the first time we handled it and probably stressed it out.
Since it was a big deal getting the gecko, kids are motivated to take care of it and they like being able to pet it. If they didn’t have allergies, it’d be so fun to have a rabbit or hamster.

    1. K, so I’m placing your vote with Fred/ Freddy. I hear what you mean about Dart; our homeschool teacher mentioned the same thing today when we asked for her vote.
Kids really like your Charizard suggestion, but it’s too late to add it to the voting list. It may become its middle name.

      1. Dart is the majority of the votes so far! Kind of surprising. But we’re going to wait a few more days to finalize. This is a fun project for the kids and I’m such a teacher: I told them to make a graph of it afterwards. Lol.
Eazy is not bad but can’t add more to the names under consideration.
        Will update as we finalize.
