sing like wildflowers

My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

What better way to get back into the swing of things by remembering our lovely family time in Hawaii! We’ve been sleeping a ton and taking it easy. It’s interesting how the days haven’t changed, in terms of life’s schedules, but my attitude towards it has changed. My days can be relaxing and slow and still life life goes on. Why do I make these realizations after a major storm has passed? And then forget so quickly?

A random person took this picture for us before the Lu’au evening started, and it’s become one of my favorites. I was fumbling around with the selfie feature, and this grandpa with a cane asked if he could take the picture for us. We gladly accepted. Then, I took pictures for him and his family. Happy trade!

Sleep is a great healer, isn’t it?
Perhaps forgetting is God’s way of allowing us to recharge. Reflection which can come later when we are stronger?

I agree, sleep is a great healer and God’s gift!! Reflection will come once the dust settles and some time has passed. Have a great weekend and take care!

Sleep is a great healer and restorer of weary bodies!! Sleeping well is God’s gift and a way for us to surrender our cares to Him.

That’s a perfect photo to remember a great vacation and how nice of the gentleman to take it, then you returned the favor. Let’s hope it is nothing but sunny skies and calm water ahead for you and Ellis.

I hear you, Linda! We usually end up having these emergencies once in a while…I’m done for the year. It takes a lot out of me.
I’m so glad we got to enjoy our vacation this October before all this happened. Thank you for your comment! It was really nice of the grandpa to take the picture for us…you never know how the picture will turn out when random people take it for you. But this one has become my favorite. Have a great weekend and stay well. Hugs, Esther

As a person who always traveled along, I was lucky to be able to ask fellow tour members to take my photo and was usually lucky, but choosing a random person at a random event, not so much. I asked three different people at different 5K events and none of them came out. I hope you’re done with any emergencies or bad karma the rest of 2023!

You never know how it’ll turn out with random people taking your photos! So when I get asked, I try really hard to take a good one for them.

Thank you, Linda! Oh please….sunny skies and calm water ahead for us. Somehow, we miraculously make it through these ordeals, but I come out a little tattered and worn out at the end. lol. Still ok somehow.

It is God watching over and protecting you, helping you to weather the storm eventually.

      2. singlikewildflowers Avatar

        Amen! He does.

        Yes he does.

      2. singlikewildflowers Avatar

Very sweet! I’m trying to enjoy it as much as I can while she’s young.

I love to “trade photographer” with other tourists. It’s fun to make a random, sweet, human connection! It’s a great photo of you and Ellis!

    1. singlikewildflowers Avatar

Thank you! It’s become a favorite photo. I was wary of doing it during COVID but now I feel more comfortable to be the “trade photographer.” It’s the best feeling when you get a good photo from that. When people ask me, I take lots of different angle photos from them to choose.
