Dart did another shed last night, probably his 11th one by now, but this time he missed peeling the skin off some of his fingers and toes. If the skin is not fully removed, it could constrict the blood flow to those parts of his body and eventually fall off.
So Elliot and I carefully peeled off the skin off Dart’s fingers and tips of his toes. Dart was none too pleased with this procedure and darted around making clicking sounds, which signals discomfort. The picture below shows Dart trying to contain his panic while getting a skin peel procedure.

This is Dart last night in his pre-shed phase.

Now THAT IS LOVE! ❤️ ❤️❤️🦎
I don’t like having my skin peeled either Darling Dart! But I do enjoy a massage!! Hopefully your who-mens will rub your belly and treat you with a cricket ice cream cone soon! ❤️🦎
I was not a fan either, Auntie TD! I chirped but these who-mens had no idea what I was saying. They were mumbling that this was helping me and mama was trying to record it but brother told her to stop. It was a commotion. Before I knew it, I was treated to a pupa mealworm. Good stuff. I’m now exfoliated and ready for the summer.
Nice you share Dart pelling the skin off some of his finger and toes. Beautiful capture the Dart.
That’s a lot of skin-shedding!
He slowed down actually. Dart used to shed every 2 weeks or so, but the winter months was much less. His one year anniversary with us is July 5th.
Oh! I wonder why that is.
Good thing you guys were home to help!
We found the excess skin on his fingers and toes the next morning. He was none too pleased with us!
I can imagine – the indignity of it all!
Agree! He was miffed.
