We heard that K-Love, a Christian radio station that we listen to in the car all the time, was coming out to San Jose to meet their listeners. This summer they are going on a tour to meet listeners based on votes…this week they were in Sacramento and San Jose, and they will going to Los Angeles, San Diego, and Phoenix (in that order) for the next 3 days.
We listen to these DJ’s all the time and to meet them in person was a fabulous experience.
The Meet and Treat in the morning lasted from 10-12 a.m. at a downtown coffee shop and the free concert with Jordan Feliz started at 7 p.m. at a theater in Redwood city, with doors opening at 6. I registered for 4 tickets a couple of weeks ago and Chris decided to take the afternoon off to make it a family outing.
We’ve listened and watched Jordan Feliz’ music videos for years, our favorite one is “Changed,” and we were excited to hear him live. The DJ’s were upbeat and personable and made us feel comfortable in saying “hello” and taking pictures with them.
This is unusual for our family, but we actually made it to both events and had a wonderful time! Ellis had some stomach pains the night before, so I didn’t know if we would actually make it but she was determined. At the coffee shop, there were about 50 people waiting in line ahead of us, diverse age range, even a service cat and dog. Once you got close to getting inside the establishment to meet and take pictures, you would spin a wheel for a prize: stickers, keychain, chapstick, pen, foam K-Love mic, t-shirt, or beach towel. This was our family’s first concert experience together and we (except for stoic Chris) all jammed out to Jordan Feliz’ worship music with everyone else. The row behind us had hard core fans and they knew the lyrics to every song, which they sang loudly with each song. I didn’t mind it so much and it all got us into fun mood of the evening.
The first people in line told us they got there before 4 p.m. and thankfully they were sitting in chairs enjoying snacks and drinks. For us, we went to Chipotle and Five Guys burgers for food and got in line around 5:15 p.m., and we were about number 60-70. It was a festive mood and everyone was excited for the show, which didn’t disappoint. I’ve mentioned it before, but we love listening to K-Love for their uplifting music and positive reminders that God is at work around us all the time. The concert was like a loud and happy worship service praising Jesus with other believers!
Thank you K-LOVE and Jordan Feliz for this event and a fantastic show with music, lights, and audience participation!! We were all blessed by the meetings and the memories of music and fun together.

They have uplifting, contemporary, and popular worship songs from award winning Christian artists and encouraging stories of faith from listeners. They play the right music at the right time, and my faith always grows from it. It’s a listener-supported station, so you only get music and no commercials.

You’re right…they’re growing up so fast. I’m trying to remember these kid days as much as I can and enjoying them before they grow up and do their own thing.

Yes and nice Chris could be there as well. Make as many Summer memories as you can … soon the drudgery of school will be upon you. I am hearing lots of back-to-school ads already. Even though I liked school when I was younger, I was not in “back-to-school” mode until mid-to-late August!
It’s coming up on soon! Back to school shopping started early to mid July in stores. It felt like vacation just started and back to school shopping started up again. Before you know it, Halloween decor will be in stores soon. Ugh…too fast. Black Friday deals…they keep showing up earlier and earlier.
I thought they started back-to-school ads way earlier this year. Go figure. There are the memes circulating every year where the turkey is mad its holiday is barely recognized as Halloween merchandise is hurriedly pushed away to make room for Christmas stuff.
We’re getting back into the season again!! It’s like ads overload and Black Friday craziness, probably starting in October.
Well, back-to-school mode begins … I keep hearing ads for “devices” … the announcer says “when I was a kid it was pencils and paper.” Very true!
B is “praise” by evolution worship, K is “take it all back” toren wells, s likes the 80s KLOVE station online.
We all love, listening to K-LOVE and we listen to it almost exclusively. Though sometimes S puts on his headphones and listens to his own 80s stuff.
