I empathize with Ellis… it’s so uncomfortable to have a migraine and constant vomiting.
I hope the medicine and iv will kick in soon. They took a blood sample, and I’m waiting for the IV. I couldn’t even stand up straight getting into the car. Hunched over.

So sorry you’re not feeling good. It’s no fun at all being in the ER. Hope you get to go home soon. I had to go to ER myself last Thursday for a nosebleed that wouldn’t stop. Ambulance ride and everything! I did finally get to go home, though. ๐
No fun at all! They gave me 2 different types of anti nausea and iv. Feeling much better now than when I first got here.
I’m so sorry you had an er visit too with the ambulance and all! Glad you got home and you’re better. That’s scary when a nosebleed didn’t stop.
Thanks! Glad you are feeling better, too. <3
Thank you!
Oh, no, Esther! I’m so sorry you’re suffering from a migraine with vomiting. Hopefully, the meds have kicked in.
Meds kicked in, and I’m feeling better now. Whew, what a crazy night. I should be discharged soon!
Thank you for letting me know. I’m glad you’re feeling better. Here’s hoping it was a one-time event!
I hope so too! All my other ER visits when I was younger was related to the same thing. I’m better able to manage it at home when it happens, but this time I needed more help with the dehydration.
Oh dear Esther, Are migraines and vomiting new for you? It must be scary for you to go to the dreaded ER. Did Chris drive you there with your family? So many questions swirling around my mindโฆ
I have migraines like this once in a while…it happens once or twice a year, but I haven’t had to go to the ER for it in over 15 years. It happened more frequently when I was younger. I guess Ellis gets it from me. sigh…
These migraines with vomiting occur when I’m too stressed out and exhausted and my body just goes into meltdown mode. The dehydration was getting me dizzy and feeling out of sorts, so I decided to go to the ER. Better to get help sooner than later. It’s a terrible feeling.
Chris drove me to the ER and dropped me off. Kids were sleeping at home and I didn’t want to wake them up and scare them. I went to the nearest ER, which was 5 minutes away. Then, he picked me up when I was discharged. My knees are getting weak thinking about going to Ellis’ pre op tomorrow and an overnight stay on Wednesday. It’s a bunch of emotions.
Iโm glad that you are better and that they knew what to give you to stable you. My head was spinning thinking about all the possibilities of logistics.
Ellisโ pre op is the heart cath, right? Are they placing in a metal stent or just taking images? I would be terrified emotionally too!
PS Esther, you are such a good mom! Get some good sleep tonight!! Know that Iโm here to help emotionally support you, your friend. โค๏ธ
Oh no! ๐
I know! It was awful and I felt so helpless. Thank goodness it was a short bout.
Migraines are no fun. Hope you go home soon.
Thank you! I was able to come home in about 2 hours. So thankful for medical help and medicine.
Unbelievable! Just this morning I was smiling at your happy youngsters.
The first word that came to mind was “unbelievable.” We had such a fun day and evening, and then the migraine kicked in. I haven’t been to the ER for myself in over 17 years and that time was also for the same reason. Just got to take better care of myself.
Thank you, Jo! Kids were worried once we told them after they woke up and couldn’t believe that I had already come back from the ER.
You have to look after you, to be able to look after the others, Esther.
Not fun. Hope you feel better soon.
Not fun at all! Thank you, I’m feeling better now.
Thank goodness
Oh no! And after such a wonderful, fun-filled day yesterday! I’m sorry to read this and I’m sure Ellis is worried seeing you like this and feeling your pain. Finger crossed you’re feeling better soon.
Tell me about it…thank goodness I got sick after everyone fell asleep. Ellis didn’t see throw up or anything, thank goodness.
We had a long discussion about this in June, because it’s so much pressure for me. I told her that I get sick too and that she needs to let me be until I get better, and that it doesn’t mean I’m going to die. She and I have a symbiotic relationship from birth with all the hospitals and what not, so it’s hard for both of us. Ugh…medical trauma.
I immediately thought about Ellis thinking not only would she worry about you, but associate it with herself and what if it caused her to become ill? I remember when you spent the night with Elliot when he had pneumonia and she was worried about both of you. Thank goodness you had that talk and hopefully when something like this happens, she’ll understand and not worry about you. You have so much on your plate Esther. Hugs to you. {{{ }}}
