I am relieved to have successfully lived through a horrendous month of medical emergencies for my mom, mil, and Ellis. My ladies are all on the mend, but some pressing health issues still need more tending to for all of them as we move forward. Even through it all, God has been and is so good to have seen us through the amazing highs of this year and the lowest lows in the hospital rooms. In these times, my faith grows in small increments always always confident that Jesus is the ultimate healer and protector. But why does my heart still feel this heavy.
Thank you, my dear readers, for always listening and being here! It’s always a pleasure to share with you.
- “Run To The Father” by Matt Maher: Ellis’ favorite song. Last winter, when she was home recuperating from her cyclic vomiting bout, she asked Google to play to this song and then went under the covers to sing this song. I thought she was only singing, but then I heard sniffling and realized that she was crying to the song. A recurring line within the song is “my heart.” I hope you will check it out! I promise you will be so blessed by the lyrics.
- My heart needs a surgeon
My soul needs a friend
So I’ll run to the Father again and again
I run to the Father
I fall into grace
I’m done with the hiding
No reason to wait
And my heart found a surgeon
My soul found a friend
So I’ll run to the Father
Again and again and again and again
- My heart needs a surgeon
2. “Fear Is Not My Future” by Maverick City: Every time we hear this song, my hand turns up the volume dial, and it makes my heart praise God. The lyrics are so insightful, hopeful, and beautiful, declaring who God is over all the heavy issues of this large world and of my tiny world.
“Fear Is Not My Future”
(feat. Brandon Lake & Chandler Moore)
Let Him turn it in your favor
Watch Him work it for your good
‘Cause He’s not done with what He’s started
He’s not done until it’s good
So let Him turn it in your favor
Watch Him work it for your good
He’s not done with what He’s started
He’s not done until it’s good
Hello peace
Hello joy
Hello love
Hello strength
Hello hope, it’s a new horizon
Hello peace
Hello joy
Hello love
Hello strength
Hello hope, it’s a new horizon
If you’re ready for a breakthrough
Just open up and just receive
‘Cause what He’s pouring out is nothing
You’ve ever seen (You’ve ever seen)
You’ve ever seen
Hello peace
Hello joy
Hello love
Hello
Hello strength
Hello hope, it’s a new horizon
Can you see the sun coming up
Hello peace
Hello joy
Hello love
Hello strength
Hello hope, it’s a new horizon
It’s just a new horizon
It’s a new day
It’s a new day
It’s a new day
It’s a new prayer
Fear is not my future
You are, You are (You are)
Sickness is not my story
You are, You are (You are)
Heartbreak’s not my home
You are, You are (You are)
Death is not the end
You are, You are (You are)
